Summary of my arts History
1966 - 1971: I completed my studies at the Faculty of Arts. BA in fine Arts
(University of Helwan - Cairo, Egypt ) - specialized in Arts painting.
1968: I took part in General Exhibitions while studying.
1973: The first special exhibition included human cases (i.e. the problems concerning people around the world and their sufferings). My paintings also circled around certain beliefs. The human lives are very much valuable and respectable. You cannot stop the human ability to excel. This artistic technique involved the relationship between the shadow and light in the painting itself. The technique ended by 1977.
1978 - 1985: Here, I approached a new and more interesting technique after long research. That was done to express a new meaning to the color white. Also, the use of the Human figure in the paintings were seen in a different perspective. This was done using a horse to symbolize courage and sincerity. Those are the descriptions of the Arab world. This period was divided into two categories:
Within this period, two special exhibitions were held concerning the use of Arabic letters to produce artistic composition in form of a painting.
1987 - Present:
My artistic style has changed completely and I began to search to for the Middle- Eastern culture and tradition within an abstract ( Specially Palestinian traditional). The element of my research that taken from abstract UNITS which decorated the tradition Folklore dress, carpets, mosques walls, historical places of various cities, villages, dessert in my country and various Arab areas in the Middle East, and also studied and reshaped it in an abstract style of my Palestinian roots..
Throughout my life as an artist I used all kinds of colors, such as Oil colors, Water Colors, Oil Pastel, Gouache, Acrylic etc….
At this period as I’m continuing my searching in a Middle Eastern culture and traditional with a abstract till now, I started a new research (The Relationship between the Movement and the Beauty (1997 - 2000).
I have wanted to recognize the relationship between the subjective movement to the beautiful body in the space surrounding by it and another movement makes (a removal ) in this space .
And I have seen that movement with two halves:
1. The subjective movement to the body.
2. The movement resultant about the body in the space surrounding by it.
To that then the aim form this research of my art is that to achieve the feeling by the movement by means of an artistic technicality and color harmonious with the subject nature.
In 1995 I Immigrated to Canada with my family
I started a new techniques using a computer in my Graphic designs and I was one of a group who established the first Arabic News paper in my city ( London,Ontario)
( BESSAN NEWSPAPER) I was a writer and cartoonist.
Two years later I established a new Newspaper ( AL FAJER AL ARABI ) with another group.
Finally in 2004 I established
( SHALA ARTS CENTRE) and (AL SARAHA NEWSPAPER )
